Oil pressure "0"
« on: February 28, 2020, 04:48:17 AM »
I was driving to work today and the truck was running good going about 65 them the oil pressure dropped to 0.So I pulled over and got a tow home. Everything looks good on the truck that I can see. Any ideas on where to start. What should I check? I hope this is not something major. Could it be the oil pump?

The first thing you need to do is verify if you do or don't have oil pressure. An easy way to do this is to go to your local
auto parts store and buy a cheap oil pressure gauge( about $20 ). If you look at the top of the oil filter housing you will see a
plug take the plug out and hook up the oil pressure gauge there. Start the engine and check it and if it shows oil pressure it is a
bad oil pressure switch. Easy to change.
